Dog Boarding near Cedar Park, TX
Cedar Park pet parents don’t have to settle for a cramped kennel run when they board their dog. At Shady Acres Pet Ranch, your dog spends the day outdoors on three shaded acres along Brushy Creek, not locked in a concrete stall between bathroom breaks. Every boarding rate already includes playtime, medication administration, and feeding of your dog’s own food — the extras other facilities tack on as separate fees.

Life at Shady Acres Pet Ranch
Play happens outdoors here, in oak-shaded yards big enough for a real group to run, not a narrow strip of AstroTurf. Most dogs spend the bulk of their day outside with a rotating group of friends, supervised the whole time. At facilities that treat daycare or playtime as an upsell, this would be a separate line item — at Shady Acres Pet Ranch, it’s simply part of what boarding includes.

Evaluations: Getting to Know Your Dog First
Before any dog joins a play group, we run a hands-on evaluation so we can tailor their care to how they actually behave. There’s no need to schedule this ahead of time — it happens on the first day of their daycare or boarding stay, and you’ll get a written report by the end of that day.
How Our Pricing Compares
When you stack Shady Acres Pet Ranch pricing against other Cedar Park–area boarding facilities, remember that our rate already covers services many competitors bill separately. Every dog gets outdoor group play at least 3–4 times a day; dogs who can’t join group play instead get individual outdoor time with staff at least 4 times a day. Medication administration and feeding your dog’s own food are included at no extra charge.
Social Boarding with Group Play
Dogs who thrive on canine company are the ideal fit for this option. Throughout their stay, they head outside for group play several times a day, which means real exercise, mental stimulation, and the kind of social time that keeps a social dog happy.
Group play isn’t something we tack on for an extra fee — it’s built into how we board every social dog. A trained staff member stays with each group the entire time, reading energy levels, stepping in when needed, and keeping safety the top priority throughout. Once play wraps up, every dog heads back to a private room of their own, where they can unwind and recover before the next round of activity.
This option works best for dogs who genuinely enjoy other dogs — the friendly, easygoing types who do well mixing with a group.

One-on-One Boarding for Independent Dogs
For dogs that need more breathing room, less noise and activity around them, or simply more direct attention from a staff member, this is the better fit.
Rather than joining a group, dogs on this plan get four individual sessions a day — a mix of play and potty breaks — one-on-one with a team member, plus extra potty breaks worked into their routine. It’s built around giving them the calm, personal attention that keeps them comfortable.
Don’t mistake this for a downgrade. For a lot of dogs, this setup is actually the better, safer, more attentive choice, since it lets us care for them in whatever way suits them best. Any dog that isn’t a fit for group play is placed here automatically.

What's Behind Each Tier:
STANDARD
Group play is part of the rate here, not an upgrade — we never bill extra for it. Dogs who do well in groups spend their day rotating through outdoor play together, with at least three sessions scheduled daily, each running 30–45 minutes depending on the weather. Staff keeps an eye on every group and pulls dogs inside ahead of schedule if conditions call for it.
Deluxe
Booking a Deluxe room adds two perks to your dog’s stay at no extra cost. First is a daily enrichment activity — something facilities typically charge around $15 for elsewhere. What your dog gets depends on the day and the season: it might be a frozen seasonal treat, a Kong stuffed with something tasty, a treat puzzle to work through, or for dogs with food sensitivities, an alternative like a one-on-one walk, solo pool time, bubbles, or another activity picked just for them. Second, every Deluxe dog gets a treat as they settle into their room for bedtime.
Luxury
Luxury rooms step things up with more physical space than our standard rooms offer, plus a raised bed for a more comfortable night’s sleep. On top of that, dogs booked into Luxury also receive the same two included perks as Deluxe: a daily enrichment activity that changes with the season and the dog (a frozen treat, a stuffed Kong, a treat puzzle, or — for dogs with allergies — a one-on-one walk, private pool time, bubbles, or another substitute activity), and a bedtime treat delivered as they’re tucked in for the night.
Puppy Boarding
Over the years we have found that puppies have specific needs in order to give them the best boarding experience.
Our Puppy Boarding provides extra potty breaks, more one on one care and attention from a staff member, and a dedicated space during their stay. In addition to standard outdoor play times, Puppy Boarding adds 3 additional potty breaks with a staff member.
Puppy Boarding is required for all puppies 6 months and younger. Puppy Boarding can be booked for dogs older than 6 months that need additional potty breaks or outside time. Only Puppy siblings share rooms, adult dogs board in their own rooms.

Departure Day Details
Think of boarding here like a hotel stay — nightly, per-dog rates, with checkout at 1 p.m. so we can turn rooms over for the next arriving guest. Dogs picked up after 1 p.m. are billed for a day of daycare, except on Sundays, when pickup runs 3–6 p.m. and no late fee applies.
Meals & Medications Made Simple
- Medications: no charge
- Your dog’s food, individually bagged per feeding: no charge
- Food sent unbagged: $25 bagging fee
- Kennel-provided food: $5/dog/day
When Dogs Need to Eat Apart
If your dogs can’t be fed in the same space, we’ll set aside a second room and separate them at every meal. That service runs $15/night to cover the extra room and the staff time it takes.
Booking Ahead for the Holidays
Holiday reservations fill fast, so we require a 50% deposit to hold your dog’s spot. Cancel at least 14 days before your stay begins and the deposit is refunded in full; cancellations (including early pickups) inside that 14-day window are non-refundable.
Seasonal Rate Adjustments
Staffing and demand both climb during our busiest stretches, so we add a $7/night adjustment per dog during these periods:

- Easter Weekend – March 29th-April 1
- Memorial Day Weekend – May 24-28
- Summer – June 1 – August 31

Other services we offer
Cedar Park dogs don’t need an overnight stay to enjoy our shaded acreage. Half and full days of supervised outdoor play are available for dogs who just need somewhere active to spend the day.
Traveling with a cat too? We board cats in a calm, separate space away from the dog play areas, with the same personal attention.
Add a bath, de-shed treatment, or nail trim onto your dog’s boarding stay, or book it as a standalone visit.

Why Cedar Park Pet Owners Choose Shady Acres Pet Ranch
Cedar Park dogs already have some of the best outdoor access in the Austin metro — Brushy Creek Lake Park and Elizabeth Milburn Park both draw regular foot traffic from local dog owners, and the Brushy Creek Regional Trail runs right through the areas many of our Cedar Park clients call home. It’s a community built around getting outside with your dog, which is exactly why Shady Acres Pet Ranch fits so naturally into a Cedar Park pet parent’s routine.
We’re a short drive east on FM 1431, close enough that dropping off before a trip doesn’t eat up your morning, but far enough out that your dog gets three full acres of shaded pasture instead of a suburban backyard-sized run. For Cedar Park families near the 183A corridor, Lakeline, or the Whitestone Blvd area, boarding with us means your dog keeps getting the same kind of active, outdoor day they’re used to at home — just with a supervised pack and a pool to cool off in.
How to Get Here from Cedar Park
From Cedar Park, start out heading toward Aster St — you’ll pass a Taco Bell on your right after about 1.2 miles. At that point, turn right onto E Whitestone Blvd and stay on it for roughly 4.5 miles. Turn right onto Sam Bass Rd and continue for about 1 mile, then keep going straight as the road carries on as Sam Bass Rd for another 0.7 miles. Make a final right turn, and you’ll spot us on the right in just over 100 feet — Shady Acres Pet Ranch, 3901 Sam Bass Rd, Round Rock, TX 78681.
